iGood Health Centre in Richmond Hill, near Toronto, offers refugee health services: physiotherapy, psychotherapy and chiropractic care for refugee claimants, resettled refugees and protected persons. Physiotherapy and psychotherapy can be covered by the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). Chiropractic care is not covered by IFHP but is available at our regular fees. Care is available in English and Farsi.
Our refugee health services include three kinds of care. Physiotherapy and psychotherapy can be covered by IFHP, and chiropractic care is paid privately at our regular fees.
Physiotherapy can help with pain, injuries and movement problems that make everyday activities harder. At iGood, physiotherapy is provided by Afrooz Shah, Physiotherapy Resident, under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist.

Psychotherapy gives you a confidential place to talk about stress, anxiety, low mood, or the difficulties that can come with leaving home and starting over in a new country. Sessions are with Seyed Mehran Mansoori, Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO #11641), in person or online.

IFHP does not cover chiropractic care. If you would like it, chiropractic care with Dr. Ali Fizi, DC, is available at our regular fees, and you can start with a free 15-minute consultation to see whether it is right for you. No referral is needed for chiropractic care.
IFHP coverage must be confirmed with reception before your first visit. Not sure this is the right service? Call or text reception and we will help you choose.
The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) is federal health coverage for refugee claimants and other eligible groups who do not yet have provincial health insurance. Physiotherapy and psychotherapy are part of IFHP coverage for supplemental services.
Since May 1, 2026, IFHP pays 70% of the cost of supplemental services, and you pay the other 30% (the IFHP copayment) to the clinic. We will tell you the exact amount before your first appointment, as IFHP requires.
IFHP only pays providers who are registered with the program. For our refugee health services, iGood Health Centre is a registered IFHP provider and bills IFHP through Medavie Blue Cross for physiotherapy and psychotherapy.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) lists these groups as eligible for IFHP:
For asylum claimants, coverage starts once you receive an Acknowledgment of Claim, a Refugee Protection Claimant Document or a Refugee Protection Identity Document. Bring your IFHP eligibility document when you come for treatment. Full details are on IRCC’s IFHP eligibility page.
If you are not sure whether you can use our refugee health services under IFHP, call us before booking and we will check your coverage with Medavie Blue Cross.

If you do not have a family doctor, a walk-in clinic, community health centre or settlement agency can help you get a referral. Settlement agencies can also help you find a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
No. Chiropractic care is not part of IFHP coverage. You can still book it at our regular fees, and you can start with a free 15-minute consultation.
For IFHP-covered physiotherapy and psychotherapy, yes. You need a referral or letter from a doctor or nurse practitioner that includes your diagnosis, or IFHP will not approve the treatment. Chiropractic care does not need a referral.
Since May 1, 2026, you pay a 30% copayment for IFHP-covered physiotherapy and psychotherapy, and IFHP pays the other 70%. We tell you the exact amount before treatment begins. If you choose chiropractic care, our regular fees apply.
For physiotherapy, one initial assessment and up to 12 follow-up visits per calendar year. For psychotherapy, an assessment of up to 4 hours and up to 10 one-hour sessions per calendar year.
